Now here’s a fun family.
I bumped into Stephanie — friend of friend Christine — at a Jesse Roper concert, and we connected for some family photos.
I scouted the location I wanted to shoot exactly 24 hours beforehand and, in that 24 hours, the wind went from 0 KMPH (the day before) to 6,127 KMPH (the day of). My backup location was just as hurricane-y.
So, against my better paranoia, we pulled to the side of the road and went down a random path in the forest. Griffin was slightly less terrified at the prospect than I.
This is where I learned that the family was very nature-ly inclined. They were able to identify all sorts of plants and berries, even stopping to eat some random nature I’d never seen before. I’m no podiatrist, so I was impressed.
Not only did they know nature, it seems that they attract nature. WHAT’S THAT??!?
OMG IT’S AN ADORABLE BABY GREAT HORNED OWL!
There were TWO right where we were shooting (reminder: random forest path): a bebe and a grownup.
Eventually, we got to some actual, y’know, family photos.
Some more serious than others.
Yelling to Griffin: “This is a photo of your folks, so you won’t be in focus. Feel free to make funny faces or whatever. I won’t even see you.”
Eventually, he got tired of sticking his tongue out at me.
For kicks, we decided to end by wandering back to the lagoon, where I’d intended to shoot. Sure enough, fridges and cows were still blowing by, making it relatively unfriendly for photography.
Okay, maybe the wind actually made it awesome for photography.
I love all of my wonderful happyclients. But there’s a special place in my little clockwork heart for happyclients who tip me in candy. <3
