Another highlight reel of the Victoria Day Parade, 2016 edition.
My first revelation was that police motorcycles have drink holders on their left sides. Brilliant.
A helicopter traversed the parade route ahead of those on the ground and, as an added bonus, faces in places!
My alma mater, Reynolds Secondary School. Something I hadn’t noticed before in their perfectly-precisioned march is the contrast of their dirty shoe bottoms with their crisp, white pants. LOOK AT THAT SYNCHRONIZATION!
Kit Kat, of course, had to root for her future marching band at Spectrum.
Always a highlight of the parade is the fleet of miniature RC vehicles BC Shavers drives through the route.
Possibly the comedic highlight of the parade for me: when parade marshals placed the Victoria Motorcycle Club directly behind the Maple Leaf School of Ballet.
Quick! To the Bat-Scooter!
Love this uniform detail.
Kit Kat said she wanted candy. I encouraged her to hold her hand out and smile when it came by. She ended up with quite a bit. But, when I saw a clown walk by sporadically handing out red noses, I prompted her to ask for one with her smile. Mission accomplished: clown kid.
